I watched the Eric Clapton Documentary last Saturday and was struck by a few things.
The snobbery towards The Beatles by some of their contemporary's was shocking.
Patty describing George the way she did shocked me.
So what did other viewers think.

So what did other viewers think. I watched this documentary , i thought Clapton was very brave an honest , honest in the fact he knew he had many issues was a very conflicted person , didn't have the happy childhood most of us are lucky to have . His mum was not nice at all would be one of the reasons he turned to drugs and drink , he's lucky to still be with us. I didn't notice the sniping of the Beatles and i can understand Patti who had remained loyal to George speaking out after that he was far from perfect , it seems he had a few flings and Patti kept quiet. Yes i know she ended up going with Clapton but he was very damaged goods and as he said afterwards perhaps it would have been better for him to love from afar rather than actually being with her.

I agree a shockingly honest doc. I thought Patty calling George cold was something I did not expect. The bit I thought showed the snobbery was the section on the Christmas stage shows and Eric was quite dismissive about The Beatles being just a pop band and actually hating it while his band were all about the music.
As a doc it is worth catching if you have not seen it.

I watched it and found it quite depressing. That whole Blues scene was rife with snobbery.

What also goes unnoticed is that The Beatles could play the blues as good as anyone. I Want You (She's So Heavy) is a masterpiece. Brew it was depressing.

One of these days Clapton, the Stones, Mayall, et al, will be arrested by the politically correct police, on a charge of cultural appropriation.
Imagine! Those British boys taking African-American music and claiming it as their own!
(My desktop does not have any kind of eye-roll emoji. Otherwise, it would have gone here.)
