Sorry to correct you, Al, but the Cavern City Tours phone number is 0151 236 9091 (the one after 909!), not ... 8081. Wilf Thanks, you're quite right Wilf - bad bit of typing on my part! I've corrected my reply now AL

Please help me! again... I have to make a choice...which event should I book? The Word is Love concert or Big Three VIP Party? Which you think is better? Word is Love has Pepperland who are fantastic playing versions from Love and some of the more romantic Beatles songs. Along side a new band Apple Jam playing the songs the Beatles gave away. So this gig will be more pure Beatles. Big Three VIP Party is the Overtures who are an amazing band and play mixture of artists and this show will be no different as they are playing the Beatles 3 main rivals The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Kinks. Think they're talking about slipping the odd Beatle number in. A fab boots'n'suits band Cavern Beat i know are also on the bill for this and they'll of course be playing pure Beatles. It depends what you're looking for - if you want an early night go for Love if you wanna rock into the wee hours go big3. If you want wall to wall Beatles at BW go Love if you think by monday night you may be on Beatle overload go Big3.

Due to dropping bank accounts and a tragic family matter, I won't be visiting Beatles Week this year. Have fun everyone that does attend!

Shame on you for not visiting more! You are of course 100% correct, I do apologise for not stopping by more than a few times a year! If it's any consolation, I don't use any forums these days, it's nothing personal!

Is there going to be an all nighter at the Cavern this year? there's an all nighter, but it's in a new conference centre in The Adelphi instead of The Cavern. I've never attended any of the all nighter, but will give it a go this year if I can last the pace!

Can't wait for this year's Beatle Week, I have been attending since 1981 when I was 14. I've missed about 8.
As I've got older I enjoy the weekends now for different reasons. When I was younger the dealer stalls were outstanding and have to agree that now that they are not as good as they used to be. I do still enjoy just wandering around throughout the day.
I love seeing all the bands, it was something i was not that interested in until I've got older. My favourite is Ringer and Bob Bartley and I do love The Overtures. I'm a big 60's fan in general so it is good to have a little break from The Beatles.
Roll on Saturday

See the meet-up thread, if you can make it down to The Grapes in Mathew Street by about 12pm, come and join us. If that is too early, maybe we'll see you later in the day.

Cheers, ta very much I believe in good planning to get the best out of events like this, so I hope as many of you as possible benefit from the information as I not only want you to enjoy the music from bands all over the world, but my city as well. footie match Chester v Mansfield Sorry, I have to say that I hope Chester City win, they had a tough old season last year! Hope to meet up with you and yours over the weekend, although I don't know how we are going to achieve this! There are some (awful) pics of me and The End somewhere on this site, if you can find them and spot one of us, come over and say hi
