These were the albums that were the preface to Sgt.Pepper. Any one have a different view?

Well, if most people are like me, the dividing line between the first half of the Beatles' career and the second half is between Revolver and Sgt. Pepper. (I'm talking about the Beatles after they found success, not when they were paying their dues in German dives.)
However, I consider Revolver to be a pivotal album. In fact, the Beatles' recorded output "pivoted" with Revolver. Rubber Soul was not so experimental, but was still an album of high-quality music. Of all the Beatles' albums, Rubber Soul stands the test of time better than all their other albums.
In the past, my three favorite Beatle albums, in chronological order (all tied for first) are Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper, and Abbey Road. After hearing the original Parlophone Revolver, I now have four Beatle albums tied for first as my favorite. I was raised on the Dexterized albums, and the American Revolver was missing three good songs.
I had to re-read the original post. Actually, to me, Revolver was the preface to Sgt. Pepper by itself. Rubber Soul was the culmination of the other stuff.
The artistic dividing line, then, should probably be between Rubber Soul and Revolver. I changed my mind while posting this.

Revolver is one of my favourite Beatle albums. I'm only sleeping, I Want to tell you, and your bird can sing, love it. BTW I actually have a genuine RIAA gold record given to 'The Beatles' for Revolver. Along with a few others

Wozza, in America, two of those songs were omitted from Revolver and placed on Yesterday and Today. Dexter strikes again! (Dave, that is.)
