Anyone living in London or coming down for a visit must book for this amazing exhibition of this most revolutionary decade for music the arts and fashion at The Victoria and Albert Museum. I spent 2 hours and 45 mins walking round with a huge smile on my face(and ears?) for the duration. You are given headphones to go round with hearing great songs from this period. Music, Fashion, Vietnam and all the social changes are covered. There's also some highlights from Woodstock and what some artists were paid. Jimi Hendrix was paid $18,000 which was the most, The Who just over $6000, Joan Baez got $10,000. You'll see Lennon's Beatles Suit and The Sgt Pepper outfits. Do not miss out on this exhibition it only runs until late February. www.vam.ac.uk/shop/whatson/index/view/id/2183/event/You-Say-You-Want-a-Revolution--Records-and-Rebels-1966---1970/dt/2017-01-19/free/2

I went back to this fantastic exhibition as it finishes on 26th February. Like last month when i went there it took me 2 hours and 45 mins to get round it. This time i spent an inordinate amount of time at the Psychedelia part . When you look at The Sgt Pepper outfits you are hearing the whole album on a loop, i must have listened to half before i moved on. Listening on the headphones i loved on A little Help From My Friends McCartney's bass which is elevated. What can you say about Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, and when i got to "Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite" i thought to myself , this is music from another planet, this whirl of extraordinary sounds to create that psychedelic carnival sound. I looked at a few other exhibits but came back to the Sgt Pepper costumes again just to hear Lovely Rita , that piano intro followed by those other worldly heavenly aaahhs on the backing vocals make this another perfect Beatles song.
