Apparently Revolver was released 50 years ago today.
BBC 6 music have been playing tracks all day. Heard "For no one" for the fist time in ages and it sounded amazing.

Did you know they released two tracks to the radio stations each week in the lead up to the album release. The last track they heard was Tomorrow Never Knows, must have given the kids an eargasm

Another masterpiece which is worthy of lots of posts !
I borrowed the album off a friends parents and I played it , like you do When Tomorrow Never finished I thought the L/P. was damaged ! So I played again and yes , it doe`s finish like that ! Brilliant .

I can think of 5 LP that could have easily won The Mercury and are stone cold masterpieces.
SPLHCB Abbey Road The White Album Revolver Rubber Soul
For me with the other LP's they were either still finding their feet or they were effectively over as a band.
Oddly enough as an owner of Sargent Pepper Knew My Father. The NME covers LP from nearly 30 years ago it shows just how strong it was because it was deconstructed ad still worked. Frank Sidebottom doing Mr Kite was surreal but still worked.
