Hmm . Could do with a clue , as I`m sure the Fabs wrote a fair few about that time as they stop touring etc etc . I will go for Strawberry Fields Forever .

Sorry Mr Kite it is wrong, I have a book which chronologically dates when the Beatles songs were written and there was only one in June 1966. Strawberry Fields Forever was written between September and October 1966.

Clue : Apparently Paul said that this was the only song he wrote that he could remember John openly praising him on at the time of it's writing.

The main word in your trivia question AC was 'written'. Because I checked and the Beatles were in Abby Road in June '66 recording Revolver. But as a guess I will say 'Eleanor Rigby'?

It was actually 'Here, There and Everywhere', written exclusively by Paul and of which he (Paul) maintains that it was the best song he's ever written. I may be wrong but the subject of the song was Jane Asher.
