Just been introduced to this forum by Kite from the Kate Bush forum, you could say he bought me in the transfer window. I grew up with The Beatles but it wasn't until I was around 14 that my obsession/passion began when browsing in a record shop I came across The Beatles 62-66 album, I also looked at 67-70 but weirdly recognised more tracks on 62-66 than the later album. However on my holiday with my youth club I came across 67-70 in one of the big tents with a record player. Wow hearing Walrus and Strawberry Fields Forever was like hearing music from another planet. I think you have to be a teenager to get the more complex stuff the Beatles wrote. I came home from the holiday excitedly telling my brother about this magnificent album and by chance while I was away, he'd bought it, there was only one snag, on Hey Jude building up to the Na Na's it jumped so i had to put a penny on top of the needle to un-jump the record.(if only you could fix cds the same way) From that day on I've built up a collection on everything Beatles, in fact yesterday, even though I already have two versions of Sgt Pepper on cd I realised I didn't have it on vinyl so bought a copy yesterday to play on my day off tomorrow. damn no smoking emotocon.
