Strange this hasn't been mentioned before! Surprised it hasn't been sold, if it exists.

Oh, I didn't notice the date! Yeah, good idea about resurrecting the thread - I'd love to know what's on that tape! Probably just hiss and static by now!

Typo ... conversation about Cavern, writes Casbah by mistake? Seems most likely, otherwise someone would be very rich already.

Yeah, I have never heard of such a thing before. It would be very random to mention it in a forum.

And of course, the answer to the original question on the Pete Best forum is that it's Ringo on drums in that Cavern Rehearsal, not Pete. It was recorded late September/early October 1962 and we all know Ringo joined the Beatles in mid August 1962.

Went on the Magical mystery tour bus last week in Liverpool and the guide told us a story about Pete. He said when Anthology 1 came out Pete's brother contacted the record company and said "isn't it time Pete was recognised to his contribution on this record" The record label agreed and after all the royalties etc was sorted out Pete received a cheque for £8,000.000. Yes £8 million. I know Pete did very well from Antholgy 1, but didn't realise it was that much. The guide seemed to know Pete well so I assume it's true.

I heard it was more like 4 million but I suppose it could have been 8. Either way he deserved something. Shame he had to wait so long.
Was the name of the guide Neil by any chance??

Cant remember Mr Mustard, but he's been doing the job for over 25 years I heard someone say. I agree i'm glad he got a lot of money after all those years. The guide said he was a great chap.

I heard he wasn't a very good drummer.... ha-ha

Thought I'd resurrect this thread again. With this question, has anyone ever seen a picture of Pete's wife Kathy? They've probably been married for over 50 years now and I can't seem to find a picture of her anywhere.

Also I didn't know Pete had his own 'Official' website! But I guess everyone does now. lol Pretty interesting.... www.petebest.com/

Hey Rocky. Just had a look round myself for a picture of her but nothing doing. I have even had a look through the photo section of Spencer Leigh's Drummer Out! The Sacking of Pete Best. Nothing doing there either!
