Just would love your opinions on one of the few creative missteps regarding those photographs. Is it true that an original pressing is worth a fortune.

When the long-awaited Yesterday and Today was issued on CD recently, it was in cardboard rather than a jewel box. It had the butcher cover, but included the stick-on trunk picture. My wife browbeat me into putting the trunk cover over the butcher cover. SHe hated the original cover.

I read somewhere the original pressings are worth over $100.000. Even some of the photographs are rare to get hold of from that photographic session.

The Butcher sleeve is indeed pricless There`s a tale somewhere that instead of re doing the albums they just stuck the "Luggage" over the top of the Butcher sleeve to save time . And with the said Album you could steam the Luggage cover off with a kettle and there you have it A Butcher sleeve . Oh dear .

Such an odd concept. Comment on Vietnam?. Comment on the way the US label was assembling their LP's?. Visually it is still a striking image.

Mr. Kite, some were like that, with the trunk cover pasted over the butcher cover, but the vast majority were wholly new trunk covers (with no butcher under them).
I think I tried peeling ours back with no results. This was back in 1966.

I bet you guys never seen one of these. Negative film the size of an original size album. From my personal collection. The lp will be 50 years old this year on June 20th. You still can find an original for about $150 in half decent condition all the way up to ten grand. I believe the stereo version is the rarer than the mono.

Remembered where I read about the cover many a year ago it was my Bible The Beatles Forever(which I still have) at the time as as mad as it sounds but Beatle books were rare in U.K. in the middle 70`s This book was a American and went onto great detail about U.S. releases , obviously . Some more out takes . Hands up who wants Egg soldiers !

I don't want to say what that looks like on top of John's baby doll. Does anyone know where those dolls are today?

I know I brought this up before I heard George Harrison did not want to do the original album cover because he thought the raw meat and the butcher coats looked gross and he didn't like the decapitated baby dolls.
