Hello. My name is Mark. I am from Denver, Colorado, USA. I have been a Beatle fan since I watched The Beatles Anthology television special, aired in 1995. Since then I have been a collector of Beatles items, such as cd's, dvd's/blu ray, vinyl and books. My favorite Beatle is Paul McCartney and I had the opportunity to see him live in Denver in 2002 on his Back in the USA tour. My favorite Beatles album is Revolver. Despite the fact my favorite Beatle is Paul, my top five favorite songs seem more John Lennon-ish than Paul. In order from 5 to 1 are, 5. Fixing a Hole, 4. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, 3. Eleanor Rigby, 2. Strawberry Fields Forever and 1. I Am the Walrus.
I am currently married for over two years and I am a returning student in college. This semester I am taking a music appreciation course and chose to write a paper on the influence classical music had on the Beatles. I am having a hard time finding information about this topic. If anyone here knows of any good online sources that would most appreciated.
Finally I just want to say I am not only on here to use you for information. I would like to explore this message board and connect with other Beatle fans.
Welcome to the Forum Mark I`m sure you`ll find someone will help out on your Paper .
Check out the book Many Years From Now by Barry Miles It goe`s into detail when McCartney was staying with Jane Ashers parents home in London and how he was influenced at that time of listening to Classical music . It was over 20 years ago when I read it so I`m a bit vague on actual events . But you will no doubt get more help on here .
Thank you for the welcome. You all seem really nice. Yeah I was surprised online I found a few here and there. I think what surprises me is the lack of info I am finding. I asked my dad who got me into the music of the Beatles as a kid, he didn't realky have an idea. Then again he appreciated more of the early Beatles, pre Rubber Soul.
