Oh Christ! I had forgotten about Knocking On Heavens Door. It's a 3 - way tie!!!
I don't think there is an anti hair band ethos. It is odd the way crap hair generally = crap, shallow music though!
I do like Slash as a guitar player though. I love what he's doing with Miles Kennedy. Some of the later Guns and Roses songs like Estranged (that guitar solo that Slash plays in the sea is awesome). I like Yesterday's too.
Tell me Daytripper, why did they cover a Charles Manson song?
I think it`s that most people on here have a very good taste in music Plus we are just old enough not to have been dragged into the dire Music that came out around the time when Hair bands were about . I have to say I`ve never met anyone who was a Bad Jokie or a Grunt and Poses fan
I can tell that this is somewhat of an 'Anti-Hair Band Forum'.
I don't know; I like Guns N' Roses; I'd say that this is their best cover besides "Knockin' On Heaven's Door".
I love old Metal, just not bad hair. I can listen to Judas Priest, old Scorpions, Accept, Dio, Saxon, Mettalica, Gn'R, etc... But then you got that crappy formula hair band music like Bon Jovi, Ratt, Poison, Warrant... etc that just sucks.
Did I mention, I did like, and did emulate Macca's Mullet at one time!
To prove how awesome and edgy they were. Look at us! We covered Charles Manson all you purveyers of good taste. We showed you.
Friend: My favorite Beatles song is Band On The Run.
Me: It's not a Beatles song.
Friend: Wot! That guy, that guy, Paul McCartney sings it right?
Friend: Alright! That one is my favorite Beatle song.
The good person in me would have hoped there would be a situation whereby they did it so that the royalties earned from the recording would have gone to the victims family. The cynic in me thinks it just shows what a complete arsehole Axl Rose is and has always been.
