Don't know if I've posted it on here before but there was a time when it was said that secret messages could be heard while playing parts of Beatles records backwards like on Sgt Pepper although I could find no reference to "Superman" only "The Boogeyman" on that one!
I found or imagined Backward Messages on "Paperback Writer" (the first few lines) and also on Help! (again the introduction) could be that no one has the equipment to do reverse cueing these days so please don't break any of your equipment trying, but if you are able to safely it would be interesting to see if anyone else heard what I thought I heard.

'tell you what: You play anything backwards and you're bound to find something especially if you're looking for something. 90% of it is just coincidence. Some things are intentional, like the backwards Lennon talking at the end of 'Free As A Bird' and on Pink Floyd The Wall right where empty spaces joins Young Lust. Check it out and see if you can hear what is said. Those crazy Pink Floyd jokesters!

This is the only song I ever actually tried to play backwards. Only because the girl I was dating back then was into this crap (not Led Zep, but Satan) and she told me about it. So of course I had to listen myself.

About 20 years ago I had a computer with a sound recording program that allowed backwards playback. My younger son put the Eagles' "Hotel California" on it. At one point it sounds like "Ohh Satan... say what?"
Except "Satan" is pronounce with a hard T, making it sound more like "Sadan." The startling thing was that the "say what" part soundee like Glenn Frey, despite that the entire lead vocal was sung by Don Henley.
This was at the "I was running for the door" part. Or "I was running for..."
I found nothing satanic with the Beatles. I recently heard someone's backward recording of the Beatles "Tomorrow Never Knows," the guitar part sounding somewhat like that in "Taxman," but wasn't.

Paperback Writer = "We want a Beer" ( at the very beginning or end of course if playing backwards ) Help! = "John has been on it and I've been there just once and I must be nuts" (The introduction) As the man said you hear what you want to sometimes!
