I found this today. Great story, weird I had never heard it before. Double Fantasy is not my favorite album. What's your take on the record? Most Valuable Record Ever

Most Valuable Record EverHi mbroder and welcome to the forum. Without Yoko's songs and adding in some of his tracks from Milk and Honey and one or two others, it would have been one of his best solo albums in my view. There's a good thread on Double Fantasy on here somewhere. I don't agree profit should be made out of this particular album though. It's rather sick in all honesty that so much money should be made out of Lennon's murder in this way.

I guess sick Memobrabilia is always going to have great value to someone .
Talkin of which .
I could never understand at the time when Yoko put John`s blood stained glasses on the front cover of her album (Season Of Glass) that came out only 8 Months after John`s murder . It did sicken me at the time ( I never bought the album )
I suppose Yoko saw it as "Art" or a statement but I think her timing was a bit out for me .

Hmm. The glasses thing never bothered me. To me it was like an angry reaction to the injustice of seeing her husband killed in front of her. Whether it's right or wrong or should be consumed as part of an entertainment medium is irrelevant to me. She's the wife. She can do what she wants. I don't think 'Season Of Glass' is that big of a cultural icon anyway. BUTT................. The autographed Double Fantasy making the rounds? Isn't it a bit like me bragging that I have the handbag Jayne Mansfeild had on her when she was killed? Maybe it should be in a museum or a part of the Lennon estate. Maybe it should be 'lost' in an evidence locker somewhere, like the ark of the covenant.

De Ja Vu ! I was really affected by Lennon`s death and seeing that photo album at a tender age of 18 when The Beatles and more so Lennon were my life and my religion that cover turned my stomach and still not something I look at . We did a Stripped Fantasy beatleforum.proboards.com/thread/6251/double-fantasy-stripped

I'm sure there's another one where each songs merits is discussed. I will try and find it.
