Hi! I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone that joined us on the Beatle Forum Weekender in Liverpool. It was an absolute pleasure seeing everyone again and I’m very much looking forward to my speedy recovery! Sincere apologies to anyone who missed us though but I am sure there will be plenty of other occasions for us all to meet up for a drink and a natter in the future. So thanks once again for making it such a memorable weekend - mrmustard, Bobber, shannamccartney, Mr Kite, bluemeaniepaul74, Nowhere Man, The Sun King, sheepdog, daveandmike, wilf, bungalow bill and last but by no means least a couple of very notable non-members - Lynda-Louise and the other Mike (join the damn forum Austin!) All the best! AL

Recover? From what? Absolutely great to meet (almost) everyone who was there and to be in Liverpool in the first place.

Recover? From what? Absolutely great to meet (almost) everyone who was there and to be in Liverpool in the first place. What were your thoughts on your first trip to Liverpool then Bobber ? Not sure. I knew it was going to be a special and emotional trip for me. It was written in the stars that I should make this trip together with a good friend of mine. Unfortunately, he passed away a year and a half ago. It wasn't meant to be. I have travelled on my own to far away countries, so I wasn't afraid to do that. I know I had to make and take time to do things on my own and visit places by myself. The Magical Mystery Tour through the city was indeed magical and mysterious to me. I was on my own and still I wasn't. I hope this all makes sense. It was great to simply send a message to Alan to check things out and catch up with the rest and have a couple of beers and a chat. That felt like a sort of home-coming. In many books that I've read through the years, Liverpool was always described as a tough place. It didn't come across like that at all. I never felt threatened or anything like that. Gary told me he had never seen anything happen really violent in the city. In St Helens yes, but not in the city. It just felt good to be there. Not being a native speaker, I sometimes had a little trouble to get the conversation right. I'm not that quiet really. LOL. And I can't drink as much as Alan. But I do have a better memory.

Well said Al, it was a fantastic couple of days which will live long in the memory for a variety of reasons. I'd just like to add that the above mentioned people are an absolute great bunch to hang around with getting merry and listening to Beatles music, and if you're on the forum and haven't been to a meet up yet.....make sure you're on the next one, you won't regret it!!!

Also well said Cor, I hadn't realised it was such an emotional visit for you, in that respect I'm glad you had a great time, and although you've probably just ruined the tourism industry in St Helens (some say that happened years ago!) I forgive you because you sang on stage in the Cavern!!!

I forgive you because you sang on stage in the Cavern!!! You couldn't have realised it as I didn't discuss it. I just wanted to have a good time and I had. I'm really sorry I just ruined the St Helens tourist industry. I didn't realise there was a tourist industry in St Helens in the first place. Ah! The Cavern stage felt like I should be there more often.

I'd forgotten about that, very funny!!! Does anyone else have any photos from that weekend? They don't even have to be embarrassing ones although I suspect most of them will be.
