On the eve of the 46th anniversary of the famous Apple Rooftop Concert I have finally solved the mystery of Sir Paul's missing 1961 Hofner bass. In this rare video taken the last time Sir Paul's bass was seen and used at Twickenham Studio in Jan. 1969 you can clearly see a mysterious man that George brought to the studio. While filming this man seen the bad karma between George and Paul and blamed it on the guitar Paul was playing. After the filming he hung around until no one was looking, took Paul's bass and snuck out of the studio with the bass under his garment. He later took the 'bad karma' bass and threw it in the River Thames near Corporation Island never to be seen again.
He can be seen at 0:47 & 1:29 in this video.

It's still there even now. Although it must be near Wapping Steps by now.

Who told you this Rocky. By the way you can both feel the musical magic and the tension in that clip.

Ringo looked bored. George Martin looked weary.
I think they should have just taken a year off from recording and each other, then come back refreshed.
Stuff for an alternate universe.

You're right about that henryj!!! If you sit down and look, they just finished recording songs for the White album, 31 in all, in Oct. 68, the white lp was released in Nov.68, and here they were again in the studio a couple of months later! On Paul's order that they need to do some sort of live lp. George was fed up and walked out right away, but came back a few days later. I think he was tired of doing Paul's songs over and over again and then it came to do one of his and they rushed through it. Then there's our little girl Yoko, I think Ringo was the only one that really didn't mind her being there (outside of John of course). I mean she's sitting there while you're trying to record, what the hell do you say to her? And if you don't talk to her John probably takes it that you snubbed her. Geo. Martin looked lost as they wanted Glyn Johns to do this lp. And Ringo told them he only had until Feb. to be there because he was already under contract to do a movie. I think nails started to be driven in the coffin and divorce papers started to be written at Twickenham.
