Elvis would have been the BIG 8-0 today! As a birthday gift I want to share this video of an eyewitness account of when The Beatles met Elvis. Enjoy....

I used to like Elvis – somewhat – until I discovered the Beatles, classic rock, metal, and the like. My interest in him now is pretty limited; however, I do like some of his songs.
Happy birthday!

John Lennon once famously said "Before Elvis, there was nothing." He might have been saying that the annoy Paul McCartney, who had songs like "Honey Pie" and "Your Mother Should Know," which were obviously influenced by pre-Elvis music.

I also remember when someone asked John what he thought when Elvis died, and he said Elvis died when he went in the Army. (which was true if you think about it) ...Only John. ha-ha lol

I disagree with the statement that Elvis died in the army. His singles were pretty good up to and included "Return to Sender," by which time he was out of the army. This was late 1962. By 1963 his singles output was rather boring in my opinion.

Then there's other people that disagree with you henryj and think Elvis was great until he died on the toilet. lol I did like his '72 lp Live at MSG. But that last tour in '77 was a shame.

I love how Elvis was playing a bass when he met The Beatles. Almost as bizarre a scenario as his death scene.

Great doc on the BBC regarding Elvis's Vegas years over Christmas.
