I posted something on another thread but it was remiss of me not to post on this thread. The BBC broadcast the Pet Sounds LP which he played on and was interviewed. A true genius.

Sad to hear that Freddie Starr has died. Freddie [born Freddie Fowell] sang in several groups in Liverpool, including the Kansas City Five and also The Seniors... [Saxophonist Howie Casey, bespectacled bassist Lou Walters plus girlfriend, Freddie, lead singer Derry Wilkie, drummer Ron Wibberley, kneeling guitarist Brian Griffiths] He later formed The Midnighters, who played regularly at the Cavern [where I saw them] as well as in Hamburg... [ The Midnighters] Here's Freddie live at the Iron Door Club... Freddie had always included comedy and impersonations in his work, and became a top TV comedian... RIP Freddie

Sad to hear that Joe Longthorne has died. He was a good entertainer, especially live. Later, TV put him into comedy sketches, which wasn't his thing.
RIP Joe
