The lasses look very talented. Are they typical of all Merseyside girls? They probably had them shipped in from Germany. lol

Rocky, I'll try to find out if there is any memorabilia in the Kaiserkeller. My old regular coffe place was Lucy's, in Cavern Walks, and that had quite a bit of decent Merseybeat related stuff. A disgrace about the grave, Some people just don't know how to behave. ------------ Perhaps not....

It's amazing to me how a famous club like that fails and one nobodies heard of survives.

Great quote [taken from Spencer Leigh's book on the Cavern]
"When we got into the Cavern, we were hit by that fabulous, intoxicating smell of cheap perfume, disinfectant and rotting fruit, which was very heady for 14-year-olds. The Beatles kicked into 'Some Other Guy' and that was like the end of life for me, and a whole new life began from that very moment.' --Willy Russell; playwright

Great to hear that Ken Dodd has been [finally] knighted. Sir Ken has been entertaining audiences on stage, radio and TV for decades. I have seen his stage show half-a-dozen times, and he keeps you laughing non-stop for hours. A well deserved honour.

Didn't one of his songs keep The Beatles off number 1.

I believe so. He has a very good voice, I've heard him do a very creditable version of "Nessum dorma"
Here's a bit of his show:

Rumour was that it was a guy called Denny Flynn who punched George. The Flynns were a family of shoplifters. Denny later became a roadie and boyfriend to a famous Rock star [not from Liverpool] but was sacked for stealing his jewellry. He died young.
