When the Beatles toured Australia in 1964, he accompanied a journalist friend to interview Mr. Epstein. Deciding Mr. Epstein resembled a Roman emperor, Mr. Whitaker composed a regal photograph of him. Mr. Epstein liked it and introduced him to the Beatles, who soon made him their official photographer. He made over 4800 photos during the World Tour of the fab four from 1964-1966.
I have had the privilege to meet and get to know the late Mr. Whitaker about ten years ago and become good friends. I organized several exhibitions for him and still have signed and unsigned photos that he made from The Beatles.
