Stretched or not stretched, I have often wondered about the psychology behind that photograph. Why is John looking at the camera and not the others? Is George being shunned by the other three?
About 35 or 40 years ago there was a book about reading photos, particularly group photos and especially family photos, regarding group dynamics. I wonder how it could be applied here?

It's sort of like Mt. Rushmore. Someone named "George" is on the far left, looking toward the viewer's left. Jefferson is facing the same direction as Lennon, and Lincoln is looking in the same direction as Paul. Ringo, next to the far right, is somewhat tucked away, much like Roosevelt, in the same position.
