Here is the earliest known footage of The Beatles playing live. Supposedly taken on Feb.10,1962, in Super 8mm with no sound, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Birkenhead. And has Pete Best as the drummer, but he can't be seen. The two songs are George singing 'Dream' and then Paul does a Gene Vincent tune 'Dance in the Streets'. This would be 6 months before the live Cavern film.
The film sold at Sotheby's in 1996 for 15000 pds.

In the first part, the first song, Paul was holding his bass 'way up high.
What color was George's DuoJet? I always thought it was black. Looked burgundy in that clip.

Kinda ironic that Pete Best isn't in the footage...... Poor Lad!

Since there is no recording surviving of the Beatles doing those two songs. I thought I would put up one of each done by another artist to give you an idea of what they sounded like.
Up first is 'Dream' done by Roy Orbison.
and next up 'Dance in the Streets' by Gene Vincent.
(*These two songs were verified as the ones done in the film by Lewisohn's book "Tune-In" p. 563.)
