Hi everyone
So glad to have joined this forum.
37 year old me was exposed to the Beatles from childhood - thanks to my music loving father (who was a teen in the 1960's). He often played "The Beatles" music to me and my brother.
Like many people all over the world, I've always loved their music. I was always familiar with their many hits. But I was never a 100% totally devoted fan.
But since about January 2014, my devotion to the fab four has increased ten-fold. This is mainly due to me loaning 5 of their albums from the local library. And I was absolutely mesmerised by the songs - many of which I have never heard of before.
Hence, I have an increased "hunger" for further knowledge of this great group.
So I look forward to getting this info from this forum - in addition to sharing my likes/questions and anything else Beatle related.
Bye jasonphox

Hi Jasonphox! Welcome to the forum! You will love it here. Please feel free to ask any question you like. Did your Dad ever get to see The Beatles live? I assume not if he always lived in South Africa.

Welcome to the forum!
So, which 5 albums did you listen to? And in what order?

My dad unfortunately never got to see The Beatles live.
But should Paul and/or Ringo ever decide to make a turn over here in South Africa, I will definitely take my Dad to see them.
I listened to these 5 albums (in this exact order): 1: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 2: A Hard Days Night 3: Revolver 4: The Beatles (aka 'White Album') 5: Beatles For Sale
It's bit of a mix of older and newer albums.
I had no control of the order in which I took out the albums - I only took out whatever was available.
My main goal while listening to these albums, was to focus on the songs which I have never heard before. And this meant I was focussing on the tracks which were not necessarily appeared at number one in the US and UK charts.
Some of favourites from these albums: Pepper: Lovely Rita, A Day in the Life Hard Days Night: When I Get Home Revolver: Taxman, She Said She Said White Album: Birthday, Don't Pass Me By, Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey, Savoy Truffle, Wild Honey Pie Beatles For Sale: Honey Don't, Every Little Thing

Hello Jasonphox, welcome to the forum. I'm of a similar age to yourself, maybe a little older, but when I was a teen and finding the Beatles for the first time I more or less followed the same procedure of listening to their albums in the same hap hazard sort of order. I didn't intend it that way, it just kind of happened like that, plus if I'm being honest, back then I didn't know the chronological order of their albums anyway. Enjoy the forum!!!
