Hi guys!
My first post here so be nice :-) haha!
I'm a Ringo tribute drummer based in the UK. I've played with various tributes up and down the country and I was lucky enough to be a part of BeatleWeek last year. I recently recorded a few Ringo demo tapes as I'm looking to (hopefully) further my career in the Beatles tribute world this year. I've put a couple below, there are a few more on my channel. Just wanted to see what you guys think really! :-)
Going to record some late ones as well, just to show I can do any era. I've got all the costumes anyway so may as well!
Cheers!
Brad

Hi Brad. I am the wrong person to give a truly accurate assessment but I thought that was cool. Have you set the kit up exactly like Ringo?.

Hi Pothos,
I'm glad you enjoyed the videos! Yeah, my kit is very close to Ringo's setup. The kit is a vintage Ludwig dated 1965 so couldn't get much closer! My snare doesn't match like Ringo's although vintage Ludwig's weren't made with matching snares as stock so they are very hard to come by (and pricey if you can find them!).

With Ringo being naturally left handed but playing the opposite way does that cause any issues with the way you have to play. I don't play drums but it all feels counter intuitive to me.

Very impressive - it's really obvious that you've studied this closely and not just picked up the sticks! Are you left handed, as a couple of times during the videos I got the impression that you might be?
By the way, what band were you playing in during Beatle Week?

Thanks for all the comments guys, really appreciate the kind words!
I've studied Ringo's playing a lot to replicate his look and sound as closely as possible. Ringo was left handed so that does make it deceivingly difficult to play certain fills correctly. I'm not left handed myself so I have had to learn all the left hand lead and practice it repeatedly to get right. I try to play all the fills as Ringo would have played them, my aim is one day to be the best Ringo tribute drummer in the world! :-)
Going to do a few more videos in the coming weeks. Hopefully get some later ones done so I can show off my fake tash haha!

This is what I was wondering Brad. You are obviously a talented drummer but to change style and replicate playing counter intuitively is astonishing.

How are you on Rain? :-) Looking forward to the new videos! I might have seen you during Beatle Week - what band was you in? AL :-)

Thank you Pothos! :-)
Yes, Rain is definitely a tricky one! It's actually one I plan on doing in my next lot of videos so I'll let you judge ;-) haha!
Sorry, completely forgot to answer that question in my last post! I played with a rather unfortunate band called the Apple Core Beatles. I say unfortunate because they lost their George mid way through the event, which meant they had to find a replacement less that 24 hours before going onstage at the Cavern! They managed to find someone however the show obviously did suffer as a result, which was rather unfortunate. I only played their last few shows of that week though, so if you did see them it may not have been me.

Hey Brad. I saw The Apple Core Beatles at the Day Tripper Weekender in Prestatyn last year with The End. Was that you on drums then? You had some bass drum issues I seem to remember and while that was being fixed, your guitar player played some solo pieces. He was so obviously a classical guitarist that I shouted out for him to play Cavatina. He duly obliged and played it note perfect!

Yeah, that was indeed me! The bass drum head broke mid way through a song which was why we had the temporary break. I believe it was Glenn who said the bass drum skin was probably older than me so he wasn't at all surprised!

Brad that is just AMAZING. I know so little about the levels of musicianship but even I can tell that this is exceptional and you have a real talent. Also tried to watch your footwork and am amazed at how counter intuitive the bassdruming /foot peddle work (sorry what is it actually referred to) to the other stuff, that looks complicated. How can anyone doubt Ringo was/is a talented drummer is beyond me.
