And That's A Start

Hello, and sorry to bother you all.
I am relatively new to collecting the music of the Beatles, having started with the remasters when they were released in 2009.
I currently have all the remasters released since 2009, except the Yellow Submarine Songtrack, plus original releases of the Anthologies and Love.
I thought I would therefore have all official tracks, and all edits and versions of tracks, but now with the release of the US album remasters, I am looking to find out what I may be missing by not having these albums. Are there any tracks or versions of tracks on any of these albums that are exclusive to them, that I would be missing by not having the albums?
I am also looking for anywhere that I could look to find out all solo tracks by John, Paul, George and Ringo. I would like to collect all their B-Sides, guest appearances, soundtrack contributions, compilation contributions, etc., and wonder if anyone could recommend a resource for finding this info out, to begin my search. I have used one for U2, for example, called "U2wanderer", and a Springsteen site called "Lost In The Flood", which have been excellent and thorough in covering all work involving those respective artists.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy

I'll have a go at this. I will probably overlook something. Here goes...You need:
"First Recordings" "The Beatles In Mono" boxed set. "Live At The BBC" "Free As A Bird" CD single (has 3 tracks unavailable elsewhere} "Real Love" CD single (has 3 tracks unavailable elsewhere" "Let It Be...Naked"
As far as "The US Albums" is concerned, I've read endless opinions on this. Some say the tracks are taken from the 2009 remasters; others say it's from the Capitol tapes. My copy of the box should arrive today, so I'll need a listen before I give my opinion on that. I'm not a big fan of the U.S. mixes, but I am a completest as far as The Beatles go. "The Capitol Albums" Volume 1 boxed set was useless to me. Volume 2 was good for the U.S. stereo mix of "I'm Looking Through You", which has a false start. The only other significant aspect of Volume 2 was to finally have the U.S. "Help!" album. The U.S. "Help!" album included some incidental film music, which I do like, although they are not recordings by The Beatles.
I prefer the UK mixes of their EMI recordings. The U.S. mixes were drenched in additional reverb. One of the worst offenders of "too much reverb" is the U.S. mix of "She's A Woman". The cymbals are mixed so far foreward that it sounds like a bad bootleg concert recording. Imagine my delight when I heard the UK mix, where one can actually hear what The Beatles were playing!

Aw, I loved the reverb on that on and 'I Feel Fine'. I was a kid when I heard them, so I was in a state of shock when I heard the UK masters in '87.
Anyhow, let us know what versions EMI used for the new US album collection.

From sampling's the music on iTunes last night, I can already tell you how they are.
It sounds like no reverb was added to anything except for the mono version of I Feel Fine and only just enough to tell. The stereo version of the song went untouched even though it has more reverb than the mono version does. It sounds like the 1965 stereo mixes of Help! and Rubber Soul are not even present here, but I could be wrong.
Day Tripper has its UK mix... and judging by it's time, I'm not sure if I'm Looking Through You has the false starts, but again I could be wrong.
Both versions I'm Only Sleeping are the correct US versions though. That's one silver lining.
If you want to, go have a listen yourself. Most samples are only 30 seconds but some are 90 seconds.
Oh, and all fake stereo/fold-down mono mixes have been replaced with the real mixes. So if you buy The Beatles' Second Album on iTunes, you'll get She Loves You in mono twice...

My "US Albums" box arrived last evening...The liner notes clearly state that the 2009 mono & stereo remastered versions of The Beatles' songs have been used. The intro to "I'm Looking Through You" has the false start in stereo only, which sounds like the 2009 remaster without the false start lopped off.
Apart from having the instrumental George Martin orchestral versions of a few songs from "A Hard Day's Night", this set adds nothing new in terms of audio content to my Beatles collection. Except from the AHDN soundtrack, I could easily burn any of these albums. It is nice to have a CD of "Hey Jude". I wish they had gone with the original title "The Beatles Again".
This is a beautifully done package. I only wish those two horribly ugly "Capitol Albums" boxed sets were released in this box instead. The booklet is has a glossy cover and is way more informative than the "Capitol Albums" boxes' booklets. Including the butcher cover is a nice touch. Simply selling us the 2009 remasters once more is a bit of a rip-off. This boxed set should have had the same mixes they released in the two "Capitol Years" boxed sets.
Oh, and how could I have overlooked this? For the first time ever I heard "The Beatles' Story" last night. What a load of crap!! It's clearly an hour long advertisement for The Beatles and Capitol Records. It barely qualifies as an interview album! The man narrating this thing sounds like the guy who narrated the Superfriends cartoons. There is nothing here of interest. I don't see myself playing this CD again.
But I am a completest, unfortunately (or not). Which leads to my big question...which will be in another thread...

No Way! Your first time hearing The Beatles Story? It's one of the worst albums ever and because of that I think it's great in a sickly saccharine sort of swell way. Also, brilliant how they spread a 50 minute album (Abbey Road length) over two long players. Only the Americans could produce and consume an album like that.

Don't forget the US version of the song HELP has that 15 second James Bondish Intro that isn't on the UK versions!
I love that Intro!!
