I'm gonna be posting some of my favourite bootlegs here from time to time - please feel free to add yours and any comments To start things off, here is take 2 of The One After 909 - despite George's less than perfect solo (which prompts John's comment of "what kind of solo was that?"!). What really makes it for me is the fact that John's vocal is just amazing - for example, just listen to his incredibly soulful " well now" after "railman said you got the wrong location" - brilliant! I've also tagged on the comments from take 3, which broke down due to Paul flubbing his bass-line - apparently his pick was still packed in his suitcase (probably because they'd just travelled back from a gig in St Helens the night before)! Turn up the volume to hear a great fly-on-the wall discussion between Neil Aspinal and Paul - fascinating stuff [music]http://www.fileupyours.com/view/187833/OneAfter909.mp3[/music]

I've always loved the 2 or 3 versions of this song from Anthology 1 - thanks The End I didn't hear where John came down on George for the solo ... was that another take?

Glad you like it You can hear George picking a dead string, where his fingers haven't quite hit the middle of the fret, towards the end of his solo. The version on Anthology is a different take (in fact a combination of takes plus an edit piece) to the version posted here.

What is Paul exactly saying to Neil?

Paul is basically saying that his plectum is packed in his case which is still outside. Neil says that he offered to bring Paul's suitcase in but didn't get a reply or something.
