It may have been the right version. It just sounded different to what I remember. If that's the only released version then it must be it.

I am actually a newbie when it comes to the Rolling Stones. It's only this year that I took the big RS plunge and added a bunch of their CDs to my collection.
I always had at least a compilation or two. In my younger days I had "Hot Rocks" and "Made In The Shade" on vinyl, plus a few key singles; but I never loved the Stones or ranked them highly.
Jump ahead to 2013. This year I gradually purchased about 25 of their CDs. I think I have one or two that I haven't played yet. I am largely confused about their early albums. Just which ones do I need? Like The Beatles, I would prefer to get the UK versions, as their US releases suffered the same type of butchering that the US Beatles catalog received.
I'm actually glad that I cast the Stones aside for so many years. I can still listen to "Satanic Majesty's" without having it burned into my memory. It's almost like these are brand new albums for me!

Wow, another tough question, as they had sooooooooo many great songs! I do prefer the older stuff though! Can't beat the Hot Rocks & more Hot Rocks for a couple of greatest hits LPS. Almost right up there with the Beatles Red & Blue greatest hits LP's.
