London Town is a good album, that could have been a great one, but it falls short of it. The title track is Beatlesque, without a doubt. Cafe On The Left Bank is a great song, that's underrated 30 years later, with great vocals from Paul. I've Had Enough is a good rocker that could have been a whole lot better. With A Little Luck is one of Macca's weakest hit singles, it's so mainsteam, it's sick. Famous Groupies is great song that fit in perfectly with the times in those days. LT isn't one of his brightest moments as an artist & not in the same leagues as Wild Life or Band On The Run.

Interesting how fans of Paul tastes differ - London Town is one of my favourite albums! To my ears it is in a totally different class to Wild Life., which I think I have only played a few times and it's not a grower!

The best version of "With a Little Luck" is the three minute radio edit that's now on Wingspan. It builds nicely and doesn't meander all over the place like the six minute edit on London Town. Myself, I'd add "Girlfriend" to the list of best cuts despite the fact that it was apparently recorded by Jacko.

London Town has sentimental value for me, so I love the album. However, with an objective eye, I can do without "Girlfriend". I like the meandering version of "With A Little Luck". "Famous Groupies" is a bit silly.
