John's greatest hits compilation Shaved Fish was in my album collection back in the 70's. It's too bad it's never going to see the light of day again with millions more after his death. The only bad thing about it was that Give Peace A Chance was cut in half at the beginning & the end. SF was a great way for Lennon to say goodbye to the fans for five years looking back. The album cover was about as cool as you could get, without a doubt.

Glad Im not the only fan of it! There's always people bashing Shaved Fish on Amazon reviews and such because its not very comprehensive...well people have to remember it was almost like a new album at the time in 75, several tracks on Shaved Fish hadn't been put anywhere before. It's all compiled by John to which is cool and the artwork itself is enough to own it! Also, I first heard "Mother" on Shaved Fish which Im thankful for...one of his best tracks ever in my books!

I used to have this back in the late seventies because it was the easiest way to have "Instant Karma" and "Cold Turkey." But I never liked the fact that it omitted "Stand By Me" and cut "Give Peace A Chance." That said, it's as good a seventies singles collection as Wings Greatest, if as irritatingly incomplete.
