So, I'm gonna go and pick up a vintage ceramic lamp today, then go to the bank and shift a bit of money around and then take Mrs A. to a hair appointment where I will sit with my iPod and listen to Porcupine Tree's The Incident after which I will come home and practice a bit on my Steve Howe licks, then read a bit more of SHOUT and have a glass of fortified cider, spend some quality time with Mrs A. and then on Sunday she's gonna feed the birds that belong to a couple we know who are going away for the long weekend on some outdoorsy thing, and then we're going over to a friends place Monday night for tea and who knows maybe something stronger, then I'm gonna sit down for a while and cut my finger nails and look at the Beatle forum, (which I do everyday, more than once) and maybe watch a couple of car crash/skateboard fail videos and then lie down for a bit.

Sounds wonderful. Can you play Clap by Steve Howe?

Sounds wonderful. Can you play Clap by Steve Howe? Well, here's the thing. I knew the main theme of it years and years ago but over all, it was a lot of playing. PLUS, I've never been able to master the finger picking technique. Not that there's a lot of that in 'Clap' but there is in the middle of 'Starship Trooper' which I've mastered now except for playing the middle bit properly. Here's the new tunes I've learned. (At least how to play them. The tempo and accuracy take a little longer). Yours Is No Disgrace - especially those twinkly high notes sections. Heart Of The Sunrise Starship Trooper Long Distance Runaround Siberian Khatru (It's a hard one. Too much playing in it) Ones that I knew in the past and am coming back up to speed on them: Roundabout Mood For A Day South Side Of The Sky And You And I And there's many other Yes songs that I know little fragments of as we all do. Steve Howe just plays too much. Anyhow, the thing I'm doing on guitar right now is something that I haven't done in decades:::::::PRACTICE. I've been playing the whole time but I bloody don't practice. So I go to jam with friends lately and I'm so rusty. If I learn some of the tricky YES bits, my fingers will get back into the habit of stretching and not being so lazy. Yup.

I don't mean to sound all show off like. I suppose it comes sort of naturally to me and especially the fact that I never did homework. I say it again: NEVER DID HOMEWORK. And Canadian winters when it's too cold for even the Eskimo (they're not eskimo!), I would stay in my room and zone out and learn to play everything that I liked. It helps that I started when I was eight.
I got large chunks of Thick As A Brick back in the day. Lots of Rush, Pink Floyd. But of course I learned BEATLES '65 very early on!

I didn't think you were showing off. I started playing when I was 9 or 10.

Blues and songs I write - which aren't blues.

Do your songs fit in any musical category?

I always find that a difficult question. They are some genre of rock I suppose. Start off quiet, get louder and go quiet again with a big guitar solo in the middle. Lyrically introspective. I'm not very good at describing my songs!

Yes, lots. I have my home studio so do my own recordings. Songs I've wrote for my band we have recorded in a professional studio. Have you any recordings?

Yup. My band were a sort of (let's play for the friends) casual affair where we did covers and originals. I'm the drummer for them and the recorder/producer. Not the greatest but tremendous fun. And a lot of my own stuff where I do everything and it's mainly instrumental/experimental/minimal/classical/industrial/drone/doom. Maybe I'll drop an instrumental one if you're into that kind of stuff.
