Yeah, they pretty much invented the concept of the tribute band! VERY good band, although I have always been quite critical of their drummer - I have seen them many times but not once has he managed to replicate Ringo's drummed intro to She Loves You. But I'm being picky! Have you seen The Getback Band Euan? They hail from your neck of the woods and a bloody good!

Hey EuanB, Iain from The Getback Band here! Thanks for the good comments Al - very much appreciated. I am trying to organise a mini Scottish tour next year and so far have the Albert Hall, in Stirling confirmed for 13th March. Please come along and say hi. We replaced Lawrence this year and the band are sounding as good as ever. Remember to make yourself known to us at the gig! That goes for ant BeatleForum member of course!! Iain www.getbackband.co.uk

Just thaught I'd tell you The Bootleg Beatles have a DVD out available from their website click on shop www.bootlegbeatles.com 'Vox and Rugs and Rock n' Roll' is an in-depth,behind-the-scenes look at the life and times of The Bootleg Beatles from the Beatlemania musical of 1980 to their position today as the worlds longest running and most successful Beatles tribute show. Included in this archive and contemporary footage of The Bootlegs in concert playing the great fab Four hits. A splendid time is guaranteed for all! I've already ordered my copy

Is the DVD the Channel 4 doc they did a few years back that prompted Paul Cooper to leave after seeing himself all sweaty without his wig on?

saw them on 14th March in Hanley absolutely superb. some nice surprises, as i wasnt expecting Blackbird to be played. was quite funny when the bloke playing John said "we're gonna play a song about my new wife" and a few of the audience jokingly booed and hissed and John replied, "well she's better than Heather anyway", Paul said "who?", very funny, guess you had to be there. certainly lived up to their reputation
i saw the Cavern Beatles a few years ago but they didnt play the stuff the Bootlegs played like Sgt Pepper's, With A Little Help From My Friends, A Day In The Life, Hello Goodbye, I Am The Walrus (John said "this is an Oasis cover, bloody tribute band" ha ha), All You Need Is Love, Strawberry Fields, even Imagine oddly, Hey Jude, but the pick of the lot was either In My Life, Blackbird or Penny Lane, the latter's trumpet solo was absolutely identical to the original. and then Back In The USSR finished the night off.
absolutely superb they were
