The Overtures have headlined Beatle Week in Liverpool for the past 5 or 6 years now (maybe more!) and for me they have always been the highlight of the week. Their gigs at The Cavern a few years back were two of the best I have ever seen!!
Well, last year was my 40th birthday, and I marked the occasion with a series of events throughout the year - the most ambitious of which was booking The Overtures to play at my Sixties night! It was an absolutely top night with over 150 people there (including Bobber and Kevin from this forum!) all dressed sixties style! It was hard work organising it all but well worth it in the end!
Anyway - these are The Overtures playing in Liverpool 2005 (you can see me in the crowd right at the very end of this clip - I'm on the far left).

Yes I did go - it was an absolutely fantastic night! I have never seen a band play two one hour sets without a single gap between tracks!! Amazing!

The Overtures Make Lulu Wanna Shout!
On Thursday night, November 20th, The Overtures performed for Lulu and friends at 2, Temple Place, The Strand, London at a special birthday celebration hosted by Sir Elton John and David Furnish. Sir Elton introduced The Overtures as "... one of my favourite bands... and are truly brilliant..." The evening saw Sir Elton, Lulu and close friend Kiki Dee join in with The Overtures on songs 'Sweet Soul Music', 'Midnight Hour' and very specially, Elton singing 'Pinball Wizard' while Lulu sung out the last number of the night, 'Shout'.
