I, like many of you forum Beatle people, would love to have a tour of Abbey Road Studios, especially taking in and absorbing the legacy that is Number 2 Studio. I know that the doors were open to the public for 2 weeks in 1983 (why the hell did nobody invite me! ) but as far as I'm aware, they haven't opened the doors to the studios since? Were any of you good folk lucky enough to be honoured with one of these? I guess that what I'm asking is that have any of you actually been inside Abbey Road Studios and are you aware of any official (or unofficial) means of getting inside? Wait a minute, 4 or 5 of us could pretend we're the reformed Pink Floyd wanting to record our latest album . Bags I to be Roger Waters! Erm . . . . . . Nah - it just wouldn't work.

I suppose I'm over qualified - having been there a lot. It IS a magical place in some ways, but also a very serious working modern studio too. I think the rooms have a size and a style that is impressive PLUS the music we know and have seen done there.

They also opened the doors to the public a couple of years back when the studio put on a film season featuring soundtracks recorded there. I went twice! But I must admit, it wasn't a pleasant experience (or as good as it could have been) as the security was unnecessarily too tight and pounced on anyone wielding a camera! I did get to walk around number two and three studios though and saw a few instruments used by The Beatles.
