I know what you mean about that bit sounding like Paul double tracking the vocal with George. However the reason I don't think it is Paul is because if he was singing at all on the track I don't think he would have been content with just double tracking - he would have definitely harmonised on the chorus and outro singing a 3rd or a 5th to George's vocal on the 'roll over Beethoven' bit. There is a sort of harmony on the studio version towards the end - listen to the "...roll over Beetho VEN..." parts. By the way, this track totally rocked when they played it live - love the Sweden footage, you can see they are really getting into it.

There are loads of different takes of the overdubs for From Me To You and Thank You Girl floating around in bootleg land, so I don't think it's in question that the harmonica on these two tracks was overdubbed, is it? I agree it is an overdub. I am just wondering if there might be a version in existance w/o it.

Back to Beethoven-- I listened to it again last night. Those of U who may be having trouble hearing George's guitar being moved around keep in mind that John seems to be miked a little higher and one has to listen for George specifically. It also helps to have 3--way spkrs. A true musical masterpiece gets better every time U hear it. Beethoven certainly classifies.
The angle of speakers helps also. If one is listening at 60 or even 90 degrees it is not enough. I have mine at about 160 degrees which then provides the same stereo dynamics as headphones.
