Someone has asked this question on my blog that I'm hoping Brian can answer.
Apparently, in 'Recording The Beatles' it states that John, and George Martin were present, and actively involved in the production of 'Blackbird'. And that there was a camera rolling at the time. The question was, is there a long take of this out there somewhere?

Not Brian K.... But I have seen a footage of Paul playing Blackbird in the control room. I'll try to dig it up.

I don't think there's anything shown from the control room. There IS an Apple promotional film showing Mary Hopkin, Magic Alex in his lab, etc etc. And Paul in the studio with the others (despite Geoff Emerick's book claiming they were not there and that it was recorded outside) working it out and the mics getting set up for his guitar, voice and foot tap. It's not long, but definitely shows one of the few real studio films we have.

Ah, I see what you're wanting to know "How do we know this? It contradicts what one book says"...
There are also numerous audio outtakes showing John in the control room basically pretending to be an American! And he's producing Paul's performance as they go....
