Too bad there isn't a way to go digital, instead of cassette tape here Roscoe. I don't understand how you wouldn't be getting worse sound stepping down to cassette technology.
It's pretty cheap these days to do digital remixing with a computer and CD's.

After re-reading the above comment, it appears that the poster Bongo has decided he doesn't like the 3 tracks w/o even listening to them. I highly doubt anyone will find fault with the sound quality. This is why the project has taken 3 yrs.
From Geoff Emerick's book Here There & Everywhere pg 75
" Unfortunately the editing job Norman did (This Boy) later that night was not up to his usual standard, and, ESPECIALLY ON CD, it is obvious that the middle section was recorded separately & spliced in."
This is the kind of defect I found in 15 other tracks & the RR's have solved the problems. I urge all to carefully listen & compare the originals with the RR's.

Firstly, Bongo is offering constructive advice here. I'm not sure why you would see this any other way Roscoe.
I suppose you have to ask yourself, given the limits of recording technology in 1963, does it really matter there is an obvious splice of Lennon's vocal in the middle eight? It was unavoidable that Lennon's vocal would need to be spliced in as the end of the middle eight vocal overlaps the three part harmony of the next verse.
For me is does not detract from a great song and an incredible Lennon vocal. And it's not just a case of putting up with it. You are looking for imperfections to correct.

Nothing personal to Bongo but i prefer to work with analogue. Why don't you guys actually listen to them? Let the forum know your op on sound quality. THAT would be constructive--- not going on when you haven't even listened.
The main reason for the existance of RR's is to correct engineering gaffs such as exist in This Boy. I am just pointing out that I am hearing what Emerick is hearing and decided to do something about it. If you would rather hear the song as is then be my guest.
I would be curious to know if anyone has TB on vynl-- is the gaff there as well??

Tried to find them on YouTube but was not successful in doing so. What's the exact titles I need to be searching for?

Beatles Back In The USSR
Beatles This Boy
Beatles Martha My Dear
Filter down to uploads in the past month.
The RR's all use the cover of Beatles Six for the pic so as to easily spot them.
As time permits, the others will be uploaded & put on the RR Channel

Fair enough roscoe, but like mrmustard mentioned, I wasn't trying to insult you in any way, just trying to point out how cheap & more importantly how easy it is these days with digital technology. With absolutely no sound loss whatsoever. More power to you.

I would appreciate your op After Listening to the tracks. I highly doubt that any sound deficiency will be noticed.
Re: Geoff Emerick's comment that the gaff on This Boy is more noticable on the CD; if anyone has vynl of any of the RR's, it would be interesting to know what they sound like as opposed to what is on the disc. r

A note on speaker position-- For best sound quality i have found that one's ears need be aligned directly in path of the spkr sweet spot. This can best be done by positioning them at about 150 degrees( the natural configuration God gave to our ears). In addition to being right on the sweet spot, this gives max stereo dynamics. Of course headphones will do the trick as well
I have never understood why it seems to be the law with most audiophiles that spkrs be arranged at 60 degrees-- this apparently in search of something known as 'soundstage'. A 60 degree configuration simply does not align one's ears with the spkr sweet spot-- one may as well be listening to mono( a waste of time in my op)

Until then, I guess we'll just have to make do with the George Martin versions!

Thanks for looking and it is obvious that further tech probs continue to plague release of the RR's. As i have to move this month, it will be a few more weeks but at some point there will be access to a Youtube channel with all the tracks. The tracks are finished-- getting them on the net is something else.
In the meantime i am getting more & more intrigued by the idea that that the gaffs might not be present on the vynl. Emerick only says that it(on TB) is especially present on the Disc-- not that it doesn't exist on vynl
If anyone has vynl of other RR's I would be curious to know if gaffs can be heard or maybe it is only the '09's have brought this about? I haven't had one for yrs but am thinking of buying a turntable again.
Sayonara for another month or so....
BTW-- I hope the Forum appreciates that over $500 of my own $ is involved in getting the RR's on the net. The $1G or so I had to spend on the rest of the system to make it sound so good would have been spent anyhow...

Greetings Forum --the RR's are finally available at www.youtube.com/channel/UCBx17a-uvAkz-TBlls87e5QA note on Help and Something--- I have recently discovered that the Beatles Love(2007) has made the same modification as has been done with RR's and described above. I find it somewhat strange that the 09's didn't pick up on the 2007 remix. I think the RR's are better though as John's voice has not been faded early in the Love version. Something also is somewhat of a problem as there is no silence before the Love version starts making it hard to record unless faded in. Sorry about the delay......
