I don't really like Hey Jude that much & have decided to leave it off V III. So far Help & Let It Be are complete. I would like to thank the Forum for the comments re: sound quality of v's 1 & 2. V III promises to be the best.

Hello Forum
V III of the RR's is now complete-- i would like very much to thank Alan Saint, Armand Garcia & Steve Katz for their comments re: the sub standard quality of the prev versions. But that is now history & the project has been( like Penelope's Web) done all over again.
Aside from the now super audio quality their have also been a couple of artistic improvements. I think i did a better fade out job on both Do It Again & UWSM & decided to give an extra Bal modulation to USSR. I used it on George's last phrase as well as his earlier licks. This is aside form the Bal modulation that is used during the entire track.
USSR is the only track where no Vol modulation was employed & should probably be called a re-mix rather than a re-master-- Martha is both.
Something not mentioned previously about the AIWA AD-R707. Aside from the AMTS the unit is also equipped with Dolby HX PRO. This is not a noise reduction system but another feature of which i will post a description in time. The end result is now such that i think all will enjoy these. Even if there are those who may disagree with a couple of the artistic liberties that have been taken, the engineering improvements should be appreciated.
A note on OBS-- this track is beyond hope. I far prefer the Anthology version.
In My Life is not included in V III.
It will take a week or so b4 this final version can be posted.

My apologies to the Forum for not delivering V III of the RR's. The reasons are not important but V III has been scrapped yet again and V IV is under construction & about 1/2 done.
Improvements include changing to a Maxell XLII-S tape. I found this tape to have just slightly improved Freq response. In another stroke of luck it was discovered that the RCA jacks on the T deck need to be resoldered.
On an artistic level i used a Bal modulation on George at the end of Poly Pam as opposed to fading down although i still faded it out b4 SCITTBW. I also used a bal mod on George during his second lick on USSR
My car being stolen will probably delay posting the MP3's of this final & best version of the RR's.

The following description of Dolby HX PRO comes from the manual of the AIWA AD-R707. This feature, along with the anti-modulation tape stabiliser(AMTS), the SLDC feature on the Denon 395, Monster 400i I/C's going out of the CD and also into the AIWA along with Dolby C provides for the super sound all will hear on the final version of RR's. I sincerely doubt that anyone will notice a generation loss-- or any 'wobble'.
On the front of the deck are printed the words HX PRO Discrete circuit.
From the manual
"DOLBY HX PRO"
" When a source containing high freq components is recorded, these components function as a bias and the high freq characteristics deteriorate. Dolby HX PRO is a servo control system which always provides the most suitable value of bias by calculating the recording signal and the recording bias current as a whole. A metal-tape-like performance is attained even with LH tapes because the freq response is kept flat at all times by stabilising the dynamic freq characteristics( note-- Maxell chrome XLII-S was used for this project). Furthermore, the DOLBY HX PRO substantially expands the high freq dynamic range.
This is not a noise reduction system. The system function automatically when the deck is in the Rec mode. "

Erm.
You should get a really scratchy copy (no - a really, really, really scratchy copy) of 'Slow Down' by Larry Williams on London-American, and a falling apart at the seams Dansette record player, place both on top of a washing machine in full cycle, ramp the volume as high as it can go (making sure that the needle is knackered and that the 45 has at least ten other 45s underneath it), and thank the Good Lord that The Beatles lived in England in the 1950s, and were the wrong age to turn into audiophiles who miss the point of rock 'n' roll completely.

I personally have no desire to listen to a scratchy record or out of tune instrument. Without audiophiles like Norman Smith & Geoff Emerick, we wouldn't have the incredible quality of the Beatles recordings.
RR's Update
It should only be a couple of weeks now & the final version will be posted. I had yet another stroke of luck just before commencing the project for the last time( speaking of which, if anyone knows where to procure the R Stones song by that name in stereo, pls speak up). I located another even more primo tape. This time an xlii-s Black Magnatite---$23
I think most will like the result as it is now in the can for good. I Highly Doubt that Anyone will be able to tell( by ear or technology) that this is a home job. I am very happy with the result & aside from technical quality, this is the best job i have done artistically. For any new members, a full description of what has been done to each track and why is avail in the history of this topic. r

Looking forward to the final version of the Roscoe remasters. Sounds like you've spent a lot of time on getting it to sound just right.

You lost any credibility for me when you wanted to cut off the end of 'Long, Long, Long'. Where does your editing, sorry 'improving', end?

Thanks for the comment. If u have read the topic, there are 3 different ways that i have altered the tracks. 1-- by varying the input level at certain places( a 'remaster') or 2---in a few places by altering the input balance( a 'remix'). And in a few places--- both. These devices have been employed to eliminate what are strictly engineering defects. The third approach has been entirely artistic & Long was one of those. I expect some to disagree with the third type. I am sure there are those who like Bathroom & Prudence-- they will object that Poly Pam & USSR have been faded out early. Actually those 2 are unique in that they have been edited for artistic AND engineering reasons.
The only 2 tracks that have been altered for strictly artistic reasons are Long & Do It Again.
Most of the tracks however have been altered to eliminate what are strictly engineering flaws. I suggest u wait & hear what they sound like. I think u will be pleased .
BTW--- i have not listed to Beatles music from itunes or where ever they are avail. I cannot there for say how the internet versions sound but suspect they are defective as well.

Sorry for not checking in for a while but yet another disaster has befallen the RR's. The Rec head on my 707 blew and when i played the prev recs on the replacement it was a failure. Another version with the new head is to follow & there will be a few changes.
I have decided to scrap U Wont See Me & possibly the Searchers. Additions will be This Boy( badly in need of a mid 8 vol moderation) & Hey Jude--- or at least the first 1/2 of it as i did an early fade out. I hadn't listened to these for a while and like them again now.
I have also gone into the menu of my CD player & isolated the analogue outputs by shutting off the Dig circuitry. This has tweaked the sound to one more level. Some players have this function & it works with my Sony. The CD Player itself has now been bungeed down as well. I may do yet another version at some later date with a CD Player upgrade.
I may also attempt to upload them on to a YouTube channel myself. Does anyone know what equip would be needed for that? I have a ten yr old Emachines Tower with Windows XP Home E.

Sorry but i forgot 2 other changes to the latest version of RR's. An input balance variation was not used during the mid 8 of Martha this time-- a slight vol mod was used instead. Also let It Be has been scrapped as it was discovered that the bass distortion at the end was due to my speakers not being bungeed down & not because of a fault with the recording itself.

The RR's are at long last ready for upload. I am even in possession of a Roxio device and will put them on a youtube channel as soon as i can figure out how to do so.
The only changes to what has been prev described are as follows.
I included You Wont See Me as it was so easy to do.
In addition to fading out Hey Jude early, input vol was dropped at about 45 secs where there is a need for it.
You Never Give Me Your Money suffers from a condition pretty close to HJ except in 2 places. i also faded it out a little early.
Now for the big one:
I did a complete RR with Long Long Long. The vol levels on this track are All Over the place. The RR sounds much smoother. I faded it out early as well.
Sorry for taking so long but a few equipment malfunctions were encountered. The next post will be a link to the tracks.

With the exception of Hey Jude, the answer to the question has been posted-- pls re-read topic. I was not going to include Hey Jude until discovering the need for a vol modulation at about 45 secs-- an engineering defect of sorts.
Like She's So Heavy, I can do w/o the second 1/2 of Hey Jude as well-- just a matter of personal preference there.
At any rate, it has been arranged for a Comp Wiz to help install the Roxio & upload it on YouTube.
Barring another last glich, all tracks should be avail in a week.
Ciao

Hello Forum-- three of the RR's are finally avail on youtube
Back In The USSR
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G_3ZnYzRk)
Baby It's You
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKe8vxteDNI)
Martha My Dear
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBBWDcm-NOA)
For some reason I am having trouble accessing them directly by url or by linking but they can be found by searching for the tracks on youtube with the Beatles Six cover for the video portion. Filtering down to the most recent weeks uploads will easily locate them. If anyone has an idea why I am having tech probs pls advise.
The others will follow( however long it may take-- i still am not able to upload on my own). What has been done to each song and why has been noted above.
Comments are appreciated. Any non-audiophile Beatle fans( those who have never heard of Audigon or Stereophile) may be wasting your time.

The "s" in the https indicates these are privately posted files, which is probably why the links won't embed.
