Could I have this for consideration in this folkie thread? I absolutely love this song. The full band version is great but Crosby doing a solo performance of it takes it too another level.
Listen to his introduction. You can just see him and a few inmates in prison going all out to piss off the warden with songs like this!

Folk Music . Well People of the Fiddle , mandolin , and real ales lets unite ! Lets post about how we loved Dylan before he fell off his Motorcycle ! or is it he went electric . It was when he fell off his bike and learned how to sing. That was the end of his peak. He reached pretty close only once more in the '70s with Desire. One of my fave Dylan records. Of his "hit" albums, the one I surprisingly like the least is Blond on Blond. I don't know why...I really like Another Side Of Bob Dylan and "The Chimes of Freedom" especially. And of course I like the 2 in a row, Hiway 61 and Bringing It On HomeI haven't been brave enough yet to try out Joanna. We'll see... meanwhile... here's a nice cover:

Oh Oh ! A Dylan disscussion Yeh You are spot on there AmaZimmerman . He did loose it after his bike accident To be serious though I think for me anyway Bob lost his spark after Bloned On Blonde. He didn`t seem an angry young man anymore . So for me after Blonde On Blonde (which I like ) I did`nt like any of his albums up to Desire . Then after that . Nothing , not even the highly rated Blood On The Tracks (which I have ) but I do like Tangled Up In Blue. My fav Dylan album though is strangly enough Freewheelin Bob at his best and his angerist (is that a word !)

I'm not a massive Dylan fan. He's just someone I haven't got round to exploring in depth yet. Highway 61 Revisited is an excellent album and I also love the way he does songs like Isis and Ballad of a Thin Man with endless verses and little or no chrous and makes them sound so captivating. There's the genius right there.

This kind of sounds like Indian classical music but played on traditional Irish instruments if you know what I mean.

Nice find! Although these sound more bluesy than folky, especially Strange Moon Rising. Good stuff - will be checking them out Yeh your right Al (As you always are !) They do have a tinge of Blues . I thought they just seem to lean more to the Trad Folk on the album I just cant stop playing . Prob (well must be ) the best Folk band ever Fairport Convention started out very Bluesy . They are touring later on this year so I`m going Manchester Deaf Int. 5th October
