Amazing that a lot of the guest speakers at the Beatle Week Convention centered on this very point and each debunked the myth that Pete was ditched because he was more popular than John, Paul and George.

I actually posted a link to the whole sound bite that included that quote back on page 3 of this thread I think, looks like it must have slipped through the cracks.

Not surprising really, it did get a tad hectic in this thread at one point (to say the least)!

The thing that this a$$clown could never get through his head is this. He would latch on to some innocuous quote from Lennon like "The Beatles were at their best in Hamburg" etc etc and then he would attribute this to Pete Best's drumming, even though the Beatles used Starr and McCartney also as drummers and Lennon never mentioned anything about the bands drummer. But when a direct quote comes from Lennon's mouth and was critical of Best's drumming skills or lack of them, and also putting to bed the myth about Best's pretty boy jealousy excuse he totally ignores it. I think I know who the person is who can't handle the truth.

Wozza, you're spot on but let it go now. Don't let the clown get to you after all this time. His theory was totally deluded as well as inaccurate. He was hanging on to a couple of pieces of subjective information to produce a movie. But he's failed.
