As for 'Julia's Banjo' ...good luck! I believe filming of that movie began in 2006, then they ran out of money, then they filmed a little more and then ran out of money again, I think it was finally completed in 2009, and then they didn't have enough money to dist. it, so I don't think it was ever shown. I also tried to find a copy of the script, just so I could read the story, but couldn't find one of those either. The trailer reminds me a little of the Magical Mystery Tour.

Thanks. After looking at your photo album, I have three potentially dumb questions: Are You a lefty? Are you obsessed with building and modding guitars? Do you play?
I guess I'm more interested in the playing side and not so much the collecting side and replicas and the like. I used to know a guy who was constantly building guitars out of spare pieces. That's like a foreign language to me. I get cross just soldering the wire onto the jack. It's probably lots of fun tho.

Yep I'm a good ol leftie, been one all my life. That's why I built the Dick Dale strat. It's pretty unique in guitars, you won't see another like it. Also my quest for the LH JV should have gave you a hint at that. lol / I'm not really obsessed with building replica guitars, but I do enjoy it. / And I'm not much as a player. I guess I get pi$$ed off too fast, cause I'm a leftie so was Jimi, why can't I get my hands to do what his did? Or Jimmy Farfinkle who lives down the street and who's nine and plays better than I do.

[quote author=rocky board=john thread=3655 post=177 While in Hamburg there was a Fender strat that John really wanted but he never had the money to buy it. Rory Storm, also there at the time, was a particularly good money saver and agreed to buy John the Strat. Rory's band weren't too happy when they heard and convinced Rory to buy the Strat for the Hurricaines instead. John was not best pleased.! I also read that story. I was wondering if you would have a pic of, I guess Rory bought it for Johnny Guitar, holding it or using it? And does he still have it?

Here's the Hurricanes without Rory. And possibly the Strat in question. Just Google Rory Storm and the Hurricanes and look at the "images". There's quite a few with a strat. Check it out, but I think I see a black one in some pictures and a sunburst in others. Could there have been more than one? It's all a big conspiracy!!!! Now we'll just try to find out where it is. maybe it's with John's Strat!

Thanks Amadeus, I forgot I could do that. I think the black strat was first and it looks like a white one, but it could be a sunburst was next, probably traded in. That may have been the second strat in England behind Hank Melvin's. In a way I'm kinda glad John didn't get it. He just looks so cool with that Rick!

Amadeus yesterday there was a thread that you were on about the Beatles Hamburg tapes. About a company that found some new songs that the Beatles did live. Now I can't find it on here and I wanted to add a post wanting to know if this lp on eBay is the one that company released? It's ebay #400208800971.

A way hey hey! There's not much info on that ebay thingy but it's probably This: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live!_at_the_Star-Club_in_Hamburg,_Germany;_1962 For the final word on the Hamburg tapes see here: www.bootlegzone.com/album.php?name=pc157§ion=1There's lots of info at each link. Read the bootleg zone article and all the reviews at the bottom of the page. I know that sounds like work but I'm too lazy to do a story-telling right now.
