I can see Rory in his Dad. I can see his mum in him as well. Cannot get over that he would be in his 80's. Ty would have been 78 and John Guitar would be 80 in December. Is this the guitar you meant.

Yes but we had a pic of it for the sale that was a closeup. Of course that isn't the one he used with the Texans back in 1958-59. I think Iris said she doesn't know what happened to that one. Wasn't there a story Rory's dad accidently sat on it and it was just throw away? Supposely Ty's family still has his strat. Walt sold his bass to a friend that still owns it. And of course Johnny traded his Aristone in for his famous Guyatone which the family still has. And finally whatever happened to our friend Ant? (Last heard from 2-15-18)

Ant is still knocking about. I think you have the story of the guitar correct. Love that photographs still turn up after all this time.

Buy a lottery ticket pothos. lol The association with Rory ownership probably added $4600 US to the price of that guitar!

Thanks for posting the listing. I would get the Rory one if the money was not an issue. Making guitars sounds hard work but rewarding.

We mark the passing of Mr Alan Earnest Caldwell aka Rory Storm. Also his beloved mum Violet. I made so many friends through him. Thank you Rory.

Does anyone know if the CD
Rory Storm and the Hurricanes - The Complete Works is available in the States still. Released in 1994 on the Street label (possible out of Chicago).

I haven't seen that for sale for years. Those little privately owned labels last only a few months and disappear. They usually press about a thousand CDs and once they are gone so is the label. (also of note there are only five songs on the CD) *Also from what I could gather this was a bootleg CD. Meaning the person just got a hold of the Oriole LP or had the singles and burned off CD's from that. Illegal as the group probably never got a dime from this CD.

Thanks for the information as I had never heard of that label before. From your information it does sound like an illegal bootleg.

Just realised that it is 59 years ago today (15th October 1960) that the Hamburg recordings at Akustic Studios of The Beatles/Rory Storm and the Hurricanes were made. Oh for a copy to turn up.

What the demo for 'Summertime' would look like. Paul recorded the song on July 20/22,1987, and it appears on that Russian LP of his.
