No Idea who is with Ringo in the photo. By the way Bowie would have been 71 today as well as Elvis.

Did we ever get an accurate idea of where this was taken.

Just did a little re reading of the thread and boy have we covered some topics. So decided to post some fav images of mine Balgownine or at least the only image we have of such an historic building. Love how relaxed and laid back the lads are on the road. An historic image of a very early show. Love this one as Rory must have taken the photograph himself. It is amazing the topics we have covered but still no nearer with Balgownie . Whatever happened to Vicky Woods. Does anyone know of any photographs of the Wild One gigs at The Cavern. Pre RSATH and again historic. The fate of Rory's cars although we tracked one the others probably were scrapped. For me I long to see images of the inside of The Morgue Skiffle Cellar. And the Wild Ones lunchtime gigs.

Brew as we know you attended The Cavern. Did you go to any of the lunchtime gigs or just the evening ones. If so was the atmosphere of the venue different depending on the time of day.

I'm also glad that there are pictures that survive from that era. If you just go back ten years before this hardly anyone took pictures of performers. You have only one photo of Hank Williams in a recording studio! He was probably the hottest performer before Elvis came along. Two or three videos of him on tv and that's it! Buddy Holly came just around the time of Elvis, and really for how popular he was, outside the Ed Sullivan show, very few video or 8mm film of him exists. And it seems just around this time of Rory, 1960 onward, people started taking pictures of their favorite performers on stage.

It was strange that Ty died five days after his birth date on Feb. 20, 1967, at the age of 26. R I P Charles.

Rocky I am surprised you did not comment on the Johnny Guitar interview. He talks about the guitars he owned at one point.

Isn't that interesting. I actually was shocked at how fast he spoke. I had to concentrate. He talked about all the guitars he had owned. The one from the Newspaper that Lennon also had and the Astoria. He mentioned that the amp was from the local cinema an dhow he sold three original poster for £15.000. He and the interviewer mentioned that George was the one who could handle himself in The Beatles That he (at the point of the interview)did still have photographs from inside the Morgue Skiffle Cellar That Violet was incredibly funny and supportive . He was a mine of information.
