About the most recent picture of myself I could find. It's from the Idyllwild Summer Festival concert at Disney Hall in downtown LA. Me and my friend were kinda just a little (rightfully, I think) excited about being in frickin Disney Hall and ran around taking pictures of each other backstage:

To assist in our identification, here are a couple of pics of Rob (NowhereMan) and Alan (The End) from last year's Beatle Week: Left to right - Alan (The End), Alison Crow and Rob with one of his plethora of flags! In the Cavern - Alan (left) and Rob (right)

What did we say to Alison to put her off playing this year?! Dunno, but it certainly made her laugh at the time!

Dunno, but it certainly made her laugh at the time! Yeah, I think I missed out on the joke there! I remember chatting to her about Canada and so on and said something like "Oh you must miss it" "Yeah" was the reply "I wish I could have taken a little piece of home away with me" "Oh?" I said - and like a magician produced a maple leaf flag, so maybe that was it! But, that was nothing when compared to the spontainious round of applause that the Union Flag got when laid next to The Argentine flag in The Crosby Suite ahead of The Merseybeat Argentina gig. Made all the the more special when you consider that last year was the 25th anniversary of The Falklands War, I was almost in tears when they played 'Pipes of Peace'. I'm going to miss "My Brothers" this year, was hoping they would return, South Americian bands and in particular those from Argentina are excellent.

Hey Al, Ridiculously late response but I was browsing and noticed this. One, I wanted to say that's a lovely story. Some of my Argentine friends who came over to play told me later they expected people to be horrid to them because of the Falklands. It was difficult to explain that emotions about the Falklands are complex but that we're not angry... well we might still be angry about Maradona's Hand of God, but that's different. Secondly - just in case you hadn't heard - wanted to let you know that Merseybeat have their invite already for 2010 - they got it before this Beatle Week. So barring any problems they will be back. Rhian That's brilliant news - Argentina does seem to be the Beatle capital of the world at the moment!!
