Mine is Drive My Car, currently.
That intro is so mesmerizing!
Great harmonies, and rhythm.
Can't be beat (at the moment)!

Mine's Love Me Do (no idea why)... I couldn't help not noticing the... whats the word... the "something" (I think you'll understand) between The End (Dr Robert?) and Clarabella? Anyone care to elaborate? I've spent the last hour listening to 'Something', the end of 'Dr Robert' and 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' in an effort to establish a meaningful link or some kind of spurious message in the fade out, all to no avail. Then, I read the messages in this thread properly. Taxi for arthurlee. I'll get me coat!

Haha, I was trying to drum that other day. I am awful on drums but can play the start to that very averagely. :-D

I imagine it's quite tricky getting the timing spot on with that intro.

I imagine it's quite tricky getting the timing spot on with that intro. Espcially when your as good as me on drums :-D We are doing a Beatles v Stones night in July this year and we are doing What You're Doing as a cover Plus Oh Darling, Hey Bulldog, Drive My Car, Sgt Pepper and I reckon something of A Hard Days Night.

i like how you said "song of the moment". that's so accurate. because we all can say we've chosen our favorite beatles song but the truth is that there are just too many to chose one.
mine of the moment, however, is I Want to Tell You.
one for harrison! =D

For some bizarre reason, I'm listening a lot to 'Thank You Girl'. Although it was a 'B' side (From Me To You'), I think it shows the creativity, even at the early stage of 1963, of Lennon & McCartney's song writing. One of the first instances of John double tracking himself. He used this technique quite a lot in the recording studio, especially with their early stuff. This version is from 'Past Masters' and, casting my mind back to those halcyon days of vinyl single issues, I'm almost certain that there wasn't as much harmonica 'fills' on the original single as I can discern on this version. And it seems that there's a little more 'echo' on this version? Can anyone elaborate or are the years finally taking their toll on Arthur's fragile mind?! Btw, I'm using YouTube because it's difficult to keep songs alive on file hosting sites.
