That's a great pic Mr K although it looks like a black and white photo that's been coloured. John looks quite muscular in that shot too compared to a few years later when he looked very very thin.

Maybe John ate his spinach that day, because in these other shots of him, he doesn't seem to be that muscular.

I love this picture of John. From 1968 and I would guess that it would be one of the recording sessions for the 'White Album'.

Hey, Arthur Lee, I would love to psychoanalyze that 1968 picture of John. Or at least know the story behind it. He looks like he's having a good time. It doesn't look like the stress that was Let It Be. 1. Was it really a song he liked and was going well? 2. At first I thought it may have been a Plastic Ono Band recording, but I don't think that happened until 1969. 3. Maybe he was the only Beatle present in the studio. Ringo said the White Album cuts were by John and his band, Paul and his band, etc, the band, of course, being the Beatles. Just not the Beatles as a cohesive, democratic band.
That is a good picture.
BTW I own a New York City tee-shirt like the one John was wearing above. I still have the sleeves attached. I bought it in Manhattan in 2007. At first I saw a tee-shirt with a picture of John wearing the NYC tee; I told my wife I would buy a tee shirt if it was like the one John wore, not one with a picture of him wearing it. On the next rack was the NYC tee.

Yes BMP74 It is black and white in the Bob Gruen book I have from way back in 1981 (ish) I was surprised when I saw it in color

Does John look like he has blonde hair on the cover of this magazine?

I remember seeing that Dell comic book picture in 1964, but it was in the middle of a magazine and the background was a red-orange color. I couldn't help noticing how blond John's hair looked even then. The picture also appears to have been reversed, as it was then.
