All I have to say is good job Ringo. People have tried to alter, imitate, and modernize your solo. They ALL have failed. People say it isn't good or too simple. I agree 50%. It is simple and that is the greatness of it. The End had few words because the solo was all they needed. It was the end of a great band and they knew they needed a great solo. Comment please.

It's a good, tight, structured solo and perfect in the context of the piece. It's clearly not the greatest drum solo in the history of music but it is probably the most memorable. You can hum it or more accurately blow air out between your teeth in an attempt to replicate a drum kit. It sounds great when I do it anyway!

To me, it's one of the best drum solos I've heard in my life (though I've only lived 14 years), but the bands I listen to doesn't have that much drum solos. Ringo did an excellent job there, amazing.

The amazing thing about the drum solo is that it wasn't really a solo. According to Mark Lewisohn, it was recorded with full band instrumentation, with everything except the drums removed at the mixing stage. It's the illusion of a drum solo, supposedly.
