What are peoples thoughts on Pauls backing band? Time for a change or what? The drummer is great, Abe, but I really can't stand those two guitarists. When I think of all the great guitarists he has had with Wings as well as solo (Henry McCulloch, Jimmy McCulloch, Laurence Juber, Robbie McIntosh, Denny Laine). These guys had real class and Rusty and Brian are several leagues below them. They are adequate and no more. Funny thing is they seem to have lasted longer than any of the guitarists. I just think he could do a lot better in personnell choices. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Another thing that irks me is that it would be nice on a regular basis for Paul to have some real brass and string players rather that everything coming out of a synthesizer. Surely he can afford it! Imagine how much better Got To Get You Into My Life would sound live with a brass section!

Rusty is a phenomenal guitar player. He doesn't over play, even though he's more than capable of it - which i think is a true sign of great musicianship. His touch and tone are spot on too! I agree about synth strings and brass. Even in 2010, keyboards still sound shite!

I am not saying there is any problem with Rusty's guitar playing. He is a professional guitar player and rightly so. I just think that all the previous guitarists McCartney has had have a lot more about them in terms of feel and ability. I guess it is down to what you prefer out of a guitar player. One thing is for certain, McCartney has been with this line up for too long and it is time for a change in personnel in my opinion.

I'll let you know how I get on and drop your name in if I fail the audition! Remind me which one you are out of the photos? Are you far left or far right?

Haha i play keys too remember! I'm sure Iain would agree that while keyboards get the job done, they still don't stand up to real live brass or strings!

I agree with having a brass and strings section, but Rusty and Brian are wonderful guitar players. All in all, I think Paul should continue to stick with them.
