Anyone read this?
Macca: Beatles Online in 2008
After months of hints that the Beatles' catalog would be available at iTunes and other online stores in time for Christmas, Paul McCartney says the long-awaited move is being pushed to 2008. "You've got to get these things right," McCartney told Billboard in mid-November. "The whole thing is primed, ready to go... I'm pretty sure it'll be happening next year, 2008." But with the industries short on holiday-season hits, the delay hurts. "The industry desperately needs big released this season because sales are off double-digits," says Eric Garland, CEO of online analyst BigChampagne. "Not having the Bealtes catalog until the first quarter of next year is a huge missed opportunity."

The news has been around for a while now. Once in a while there's rumours of Apple releasing Let It Be or Magical Mystery Tour or the remastered cd's. The online catalogue should be available in 2008 indeed and Paul is expecting so. I'm sure they're working on it, but I won't be surprised that it's 2009 before it is really there.

I don't know what they're waiting for. Neil Aspinall stated 18 months ago that they were done. It's just another one of those unfathomable Apple delaying tactics. Funny, they don't seem to realise that not only will they lose sales, but the longer they keep us waiting, the more disappointed we're going to be with what they give us!

They should have made it available in time for Christmas, but there has already been so much Beatle product this year I guess they were reluctant.
