Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, thought I would let you know of the following this was posted today from The Beatles Shop:
Yoko Ono: Performance at The Bluecoat..
This event is planned to start at 7:00 pm on Apr 4, 2008.
YOKO ONO, live at the Bluecoat, Liverpool:
Film, Music, Dance, Art, Performance Art, Q&A... Anything could happen!
This event will be officially announced on Thursday 7th Feb 2008 after which tickets will be available through the Bluecoat website
Bluecoat Liverpool
Tickets go on sale today. Tel: Liverpool 01517 025 324
I hope that there is no fee involved in this?, if so what a waste of money, Liverpool have just got over Ringo's silly remarks and no this!, I don't think that having Yoko do her thing here in Liverpool is going to go down well here. OK it's the Arts but why not have Cynthia Lennon at least her painting are recognisable!, and what about Linda's pictures, Yoko performing is a total waste of money.

Hi Eppy! Welcome to The Beatle Forum! Thanks for posting this - I assume this "happening" is linked to the Capital of Culture celebrations - is that right? I totally agree, it would be great if the art of Cynthia Lennon and Linda's pictures could be exhibited in Liverpool this year - maybe even a major exhibition of Stuart Sutcliffe's work. Great to have another scouser with us by the way Eppy - Nowhere Man is also from the 'Pool AL

Thanks for posting this - read about it in the Daily Post this week and was trying to find time to post here. Agreed re: Cyn and Linda's work should be on show this year and TE... inspired comment re Stu Sutcliffe's work, I think we have had that in the past. We have enough exhibition space to cater for all... St. Georges Hall and the new BT Convention Centre being just two examples. Yes, I guess Yoko's work fits neatly into the Liverpool 08 celebrations, but we would host events like that anyway. I can't wait for The Bluecoat to re-open, it's close proximity to The Cavern will mean that anyone that I'm showing around The Cavern Quarter can see something of the city non-Beatle related, without having to go too far across town, if pushed for time etc. eppy... good to have yer on board mate - have you been to Bar Four in The Hard Days Night Hotel yet?

Yoko first staged a happening back in 1967, I believe it has been well documented in a few books, that happening was also at the Bluecoat Arts Centre. It was also mentioned in CCT's Beatles Liverpool guide, or the Lennon's Liverpool guide.
Well well I finally got round to posting on this board.

No I've not been, so far have not had a chance to go, my mates The Mersey Beatles opened the hotel last week Yup I was there. Friends with the Mersey Beatles eh? I know Jay Murray best out of all of them, as I see him with the band on Thursdays in The Cavern and Mondays solo in The Cavern Pub. Are you a member of The Blue Meanies maybe? I know The Ladybugs (now Beatelles) are friends of The Mersey Beatles... but I guess that is not you! I'd be interested to get along to see you play sometime - give your gigs a plug on here?
