What a surprise today!!!!
Two new Dr. Ebbetts releases just arrived that are free gifts to the faithful supporters over the years for their support. It’s part of a new “ARCHIVE SERIES”:
-PLEASE PLEASE ME (UK stereo LP) (ARCHIVE SERIES) – sourced from a first-issue LP
-REVOLVER (UK mono LP) (mono matrix pressing) (ARCHIVE SERIES) – sourced from a first-issue LP – including the withdrawn mix of “Tomorrow Never Knows”
What’s cool is that these two releases are exactly as the Beatles and George Martin released them, with PLEASE PLEASE ME restoring duophonic stereo tracks (such as “Love Me Do”) and the recording anomalies that were eliminated from the new remasters. It rights a few wrongs.
I can’t thank him enough for sending me these new discs. I’m sure the others that are still on his mailing list will be just as surprised and excited about receiving these special gifts. I’m glad the fire still burns in his desire to do needle drops—with continued emphasis on crisp detailed reproduction of the album’s artwork and the discs themselves replicating the Parlophone label and font w/ track listings that comes in new style jewel cases that resemble DVD-A jewel cases. Wow! It brings an element of class to his work. These are still superior to EMI/Capitol in every way shape and form. Factory made discs/artwork never look this freakin' good. AMAZING! He takes it to a new level each and every time! I can’t just imagine the expense he’s enduring to manufacture and mail these as free gifts .
I’ll post a review as soon as possible with much detail.
Regards,
Beatle Bob
