I must admit I don't have much in the way of other Merseybeat artists (not even a Gerry & the Pacemakers CD!). So if anyone has anything a bit obcsure (or not!), I'd love to hear it!

How does one actually post audio? I see the code, but what do I put in there?
And I can't get the YouTube link to work.

You put in the URL link to the audio track. Like this:
Use Ripway.com to host the track for you - it's free :-)

Thanks, but Ripway want me to select one of their offers, or click no thanks. There's only one offer, but they seem to think there's more. Won't let me continue. I'll try again some other time.

Youtube is not [ youtube ] and [ /youtube ] but [ yt] and[ /yt]. That might make a difference. I had no trouble with Ripway by the way. Works fine.

Youtube is not [ youtube ] and [ /youtube ] but [ yt] and[ /yt]. I know, but when I put in the code - like you do on DM's, it doesn't work.

Works fine to me. Just put the code behind the =-sign between the code. Oh, this is Ian and the Zodiacs by the way.

Cilla Black sings the Lennon/McCartney composition It's For You. With a nice cameo from the writers.

Cilla Black sings the Lennon/McCartney composition It's For You. With a nice cameo from the writers. I had no idea this L&M song even existed ... wow! Easy to see why they gave it away though. Doesn't even sound like them. Unlike that minor 4th chord ripoff in "I Like It' by Gerry and the Pacemakers in the video above. Thanks for posting these, guys ... it's great!

Thanks for posting these, guys ... it's great! They didn't really gave it away as the song was especially written for Cilla Black. I mean, The Beatles didn't even try it themselves, unlike a lot of other songs that they gave away.

"I Like It" was actually written by Mitch Murray - who also wrote "How Do You Do It" - there's every chance that that song was written before The Beatles started having their run of hits. Did The Beatles rip off Gerry & the Pacemakers?!

Here are some links to some Merseybeat stuff. Good stuff - all very 'Beatlish' 1963 - The Big Three [music]http://h1.ripway.com/arthurlee/BigThree-ByTheWay.mp3[/music] 1964 - Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas (see later post) 1964 - Peter & Gordon (see later post)

Good stuff - all very 'Beatlish' I bet they sound Beatlish. Two of the three songs (I'll Keep You Satisfied plus A World Without Love) were written by Lennon/McCartney.
